TIME FOR SOLUTIONS: NOW MORE THAN EVER!

Yes… I think the whole world know it by know. The global pandemic corona virus has hit forcing to change methods of working, collaboration and communication that just a few months ago it seemed to be unalterable. Workers and companies have had to adapt and evolve in a situation that gave very little reaction time. The race for seeking for solutions was served! In this context, it is not surprising to see how companies have opted for interesting alternatives, often provided by technology that only a few years ago would not have been possible.

WHY DOES PANDEMIC SUPPLY A DRASTIC CHANGE MAYBE PERMANENT?

Unlike a special isolated situation such as a flood, or other environmental conditions that do not allow us to go to our workplace, to be realistic, there is a possibility that this situation doesn’t dissolve in the short term. As a result, this has influenced many companies when reacting to this context. It could have been just a temporary situation however it is now proved that the temptation of just applying a patch and wait for the storm to pass could have had negative consequences on the short and long term. Many companies have opted for creating solid and standardized structures for remote work that guarantee results and efficient work and with it a drastic change in terms of interaction and workflow. In many cases companies are being rewarded having found not just an alternative to face-to-face work but to an improved system with very positive outcomes.

TECHNOLOGY IN THE MARKET

Given the circumstances, remote work is inevitably increasing as never before. For many companies getting into the workflow of telecommuting is uncharted territory and finding solutions may not be an easy task. To a business or to an employer level reaction time when facing vicissitudes must prevail otherwise an imbalance during a period of transition to new ways of working can result into negative results. This is just one of the reasons why new technologies such as Bestboard (photo in Euro Shop) assume the responsibility of offering and guaranteeing definitive solutions in times of uncertainty, change, or evolution. Devices that do not affect to the flow of the company but instead offer a simple and elegant option with an easy execution that invites and even inspires to go ahead towards an even better future for the company.

Let’s just go through a few aspects that technologies like Bestboard help in this context.

Adaptation: New technologies’ purpose shouldn’t interrupt you with their flashy features, at the contrary, new technologies should become a second nature in a working environment. Not having to worry about learning curve will get people to worry about what’s important for their success.

Efficiency Improved: Having been used to having a team working in the same space, companies may find themselves wondering whether being physically distant will be as efficient. As an example, not long ago the mere fact of having a video-conference with more than two people in a big meeting room using more than one device could cause confusion. Devices like Bestboard are designed so the user experience a nice clean, one device experience that covers a whole range of needs

Communication: It sounds slightly ironic, but using technologies can usually get us to establish communication faster and easier than having the limitations of space/time of having to move from point A to B even if we are in the same office may not be as effective. If there’s something that has improve for the last decades is being able to easily communicate to each other no matter the circumstances. This applied to a work environment.

LOOKING AT THE BRIGHT SIDE

I guess at this point it is inevitable to mention that technology is helping us to get use to remote work, I know… perhaps some of us enjoy commuting, or perhaps they feel a bit trapped at home but hey, let’s look at the bright side, which is very bright! Let’s have a look at a few aspects that we should indeed see the value of working remotely.

Better work-life balance: The ability to balance these two worlds has become the key to feeling happier and more productive. Saving time that would otherwise be spent on a long commute allows employees to add hours back into their days

It promotes the employee well-being: no lunch rush, no long hours in the office. Nevertheless, employers shouldn’t skip a wellness plan in the remote workplace such as access to the gym, is just as important for those with flexible work schedules.

Remote work equals and even increase productivity: If you don’t see my employees working, are they? The ability for employers to trust their teams even when they work out of the office could be key to driving more productivity than ever before!

It saves money: Not having the need of travel for a meeting, meals, commuting time and even having a big office with desks waiting to be filled could be costing you a lot of money. Having the support of the new technologies and a defined structure and plan to work remotely would eliminate those needs.

It makes your business more competitive: Regardless of product, mission or business goals, it’s the people who drive business success. Who other than your employees, will shape the products of the future, drive the efficiency of your teams, and see thorough the growth and health of your business plan? Companies that offer a flexible working arrangement, sch as full, half or partial remote work could make the difference for a candidate selecting their next career move.

As on many other occasions throughout history, technology advances to bring us closer in times of adversity. The pandemic has brought a handicap to our capacity for collaboration and communication, one of our great strengths. We need to communicate better today than yesterday, and that is why a coup like this Pandemic has done nothing but reinforce and improve our collaboration with technology and creativity to take it to another level.
